Inside the bar at Casa Blanca: the counter, the stone pillar and tables ready

The bar and kitchen

The village bar at the heart of Castell de Castells: tapas and honest plates, local wine and cold beer, a terrace on the square. You don't need a room key here.

Casa Blanca is the village bar as much as it is a place to stay. Villagers at the counter, walkers off the trail, riders mid-loop, day-trippers who found the square by accident and stayed for lunch. You don't need a room key here, and most of the people drinking coffee at the bar don't have one.

Simple plates done right

The kitchen keeps it honest: tapas, salads, burgers and casual local bites, cooked properly and priced like a village bar should be. There's local wine, cold beer, a properly made gin and tonic, and decent coffee from the machine on the bar. Children are welcome in the bar, and the kitchen caters for special diets on request.

Eat on the terrace on the square when the sun's out, which around here is most of the time, or inside among the beams and stone when the mountain evenings turn cool and the wood burner is lit.

Village hours

Like most village bars in the mountains, opening times shift with the seasons and the fiestas. If you're making a special trip for lunch or dinner, ask ahead and we'll tell you straight whether the kitchen's on.

Staying upstairs

If you're one of the three rooms' worth of guests, breakfast down here is included every morning, packed lunches can be sorted for the trails, and the bar is a staircase away when you get back. The kitchen looks after residents and regulars alike. For riders, there's bicycle parking too.

Come up for lunch, stay for the mountains

No booking site needed for a drink and a plate: just come up. And if the village works its magic and you want to stay the night, there are three double rooms upstairs with breakfast included.

The bar and kitchen: common questions

Can I eat and drink here without staying?

Absolutely. The bar and kitchen serve everyone: villagers, walkers, riders and day-trippers. Most of our bar trade isn't staying upstairs.

Do I need to book a table?

For a drink or a plate, just come up. For a larger group, or if you're driving out specially, it's worth asking ahead so we can look after you properly.

What kind of food do you serve?

Simple plates done right: tapas, salads, burgers and casual local bites, with local wine, cold beer and proper coffee alongside.

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome in the bar and kitchen during opening hours. Casa Blanca doesn't currently accommodate children overnight, so the rooms upstairs are for adults.

When are you open?

Opening times vary with the seasons and village life, as they do in most mountain villages. If you're making a special trip, ask ahead and we'll tell you honestly.
